Hello, thank you for stopping by!
I’m Carolyn. I initially started runningthroughdays in 2012, when I moved from Calgary, Canada to Auckland, New Zealand. I wanted to share my experience of living abroad with my friends and family back home. Now that I’ve settled back in Calgary with my brood of furries (an affectionate term for my boyfriend Phil, our dog Leila, and our cats Loki and Freya), I blog about lifestyle, including travel, fitness, career, and pets.
As for my day job: I have a BA in Technical Communications from Mount Royal University and am currently a contract Technical Writer for an engineering company. Outside of the writing realm, I love any time spent outdoors, whether that be snowboarding, hiking, or riding bikes!
The inspiration behind my site’s name is gleaned from the opening lyrics of Tyler by the Toadies:
And she runs through her days, with a smile on her face….
Not only what I love to do, literally (running), but also what I am to do, figuratively (make gains and live in the moment, with happiness and purpose).
